What Bradley Wiggins’ victory salute says about the modern world – everyone has a camera

July 22, 2012

BRADLEY Wiggins was crowned Tour de France champion today. Shortly after, he stood on a Sky team car to take the acclaim of many of the thousands of Britons who flooded into Paris to witness the historic moment.

So how many of these people saluting the first British win of all time, simply stood and savoured the moment? A handful because everyone else had a camera or mobile phone camera in their hands to record it.

The mobile phone and the digital camera are ubiquitous, but also is the need to record everything, from historic moments like today in Paris to the night out you are having to the sandwich you are eating.
