Completely made up classic Liverpool albums

Early 80s indie merchants Sheil Road Circular were pivotal figures in the early Merseyjangle scene. Featured the songwriting talents of the trio of brothers, Ped, Ged and Noggsy Norris.

Adelphi

At a time when the rest of the British music scene was involved in melodic shoegazing, Liverpool’s Adelphi were known for their epic soundscapes and songs about ‘finding the best spec to get a taxi home from town, lad.’ Based around the forgotten genius of Tony ‘Togsy’ McKenna, who is now better known for telling unwanted stories of meeting The Pixies in the pubs of South Road, Waterloo.

The Heswalls

Three Fred Perry clad brothers from West Kirby, the Heswalls were hailed as the future of the fourteenth wave of Merseybeat. Peregrine (Pezza), Tarquin (Tazza) and Farquar (Fazza) Smiddling Oxington, blended a louche brand of indie trance dance influenced by Captain Beefheart and (early) David Guetta. Sounded like Sound End brickies despite being educated at Calday Grange Grammar. Now working in their dad’s estate agency and playing fifths rugby union in their spare time.
